Palo National High School has received a two-storey 10-classroom building from the United States government as part of the November 2013 super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) recovery and rehabilitation response.
U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Phillip Goldberg led the turn-over of the building on March 27.
School principal Nino Angelo Mendoza, Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla, local and education officials expressed their gratitude to the American people for the donation.
“The devastation was tremendous but the resilience of the people here and the ability to recover is remarkable,” Goldberg said during the ceremony.
